Hiring a public insurance adjuster EARLY in the process, before the fact-finding stage, will dramatically increase the best outcome for the insured.
Once an insurance company receives notice of a loss, they may send their adjuster interview the policyholder and gather facts about how the loss occurred.
This is an opportunity for the adjuster, to look for Incorrect, incomplete or inadequately expressed answers to the adjuster's questions and this may affect the coverage.
Public insurance adjusters are compensated on a percentage of the total settlement. Each claim is carefully evaluated to determine fees. Percentages will vary based on the claim as a whole.
Some of our team have worked for carriers in the past and know the playbook from the inside out. We are well prepared in advance for the dance that is about to start!

We won't settle for less and you shouldn't either.
This is a public service announcement regarding the state of insurance companies and property insurance and the claims process as things have evolved quite a bit over the last decade.
National headlines have shed light on these issues that exist in America. You may have seen the 60-minute interviews and various other documentaries on this subject. Every state in our nation is experiencing premium increases, non-renewals and cancellations. Add in poor claims settlement practices, insurer fraud and a general reluctance to pay claims as a whole and you've got one heck of journey to try and navigate for a decent outcome.
The below is not meant to disparage the insurance companies, the point is to educate policyholders who have had a loss at their home or business as to the current environment of the property claims handling process.
Most people are surprised when they are ignored by their adjuster or annoyed by the delay and stall tactic to wear you down. Not to mention the low ball offers if you can even get that in writing. This all by design and it’s the culture of the carriers that starts from the top. Insurance companies will do whatever they can to protect their bottom line.
Now more than ever, policy holders who have claims are seeking out our services in efforts to get their losses correctly documented and prepared for the road ahead of dealing with the carriers and the battle with field, desk and independent adjusters.
Managing a property damage claim is a full-time job, and the insurance companies know that you are not prepared for the long game when it comes to professional claims management and will take full advantage of that to your detriment. Most people are too busy working to make sure that they can pay the premiums in good faith per their contract with their insurer. You are required to stay current on payments but the day you file a claim is when you see the true nature of most insurance companies’ culture. “Beware of what you say” to them.
Your interests are of no concern to your insurance company if they cannot out right deny your claim they will delay, delay and make up excuses as to why they can’t come to the table with a realistic estimate to put your home together the way it was before your loss.
If you have already filed a claim for property damage this will resonate clearly. Your insurer has a network of contractors that have agreed to perform services at less than the market rate in your area in exchange for a volume of work from the carrier.
These contractors are referred to as program vendors. The reality is that they work for the carrier, not you the policy holder. They are beholden to the people that give them work. Why is this not in your best interest to hire them? These teams actively look for ways to save the insurance company money by under scoping the project and making recommendations that clearly benefit the company that is giving them the work.
Most people won’t recognize that they are being taken advantage of because they simply believe that the insurance company will, and I quote here what we hear all the time “take care of us”. Without an advocate like us to ensure that you are not taken advantage of you are simply hoping and praying for the best outcome.
Trusting the carriers to correctly compensate you for your loss is simply not a realistic scenario. There is no check and balance in this industry, and they will exploit this opportunity every single time. This is just the way it is and has been for a long time. Don’t take a chance with your biggest investment and leave it up to the insurer.
If you find yourself in a situation where you're not sure what direction to go please drop us a line or email me directly for a no obligation consultation.
